it's never going to stop

i just got an email that informed me that my dear (if not estranged) friend, danielle (danni) will be appearing on the next season of survivor.

for the sake of PETE, danni. why are you doing this to me?

holy crap. now i have to watch this thing...again!

add her to the list of people i know who cash it in for fleeting fame and a shot at money/love.

2002: cousin, gabe, on survivor: marquesas - watched until he got voted off in the 5th episode. too late to draw myself away from the evil-addicting phenomenon that is "survivor," i ended up watching the rest of the season.

2003: friend, melana, begins the cringe-fest, average joe - admittedly, i really just wanted to see her squirm when faced with superficial beauty's D-students. the comedy wore off quickly and then they introduced the "hunks" and i knew how it would end. fortunately, it was only 7 episodes long. melana, call me.

2004: ANOTHER friend, larissa, continues the madness with average joe: hawaii - rinse and repeat. although i fell for the thought that larissa might actually pick one of the dorks. she's got that way about her. alas, another 9 weeks wasted.

and i won't even COUNT the number of friends who have showed up on that other waste of television, soap operas.

why can't any of my friends get on to the amazing race? that would make far too much sense, i guess. oh well.

best of luck, danni. and if you win, can i borrow $100?

Eric - you threw that soap opera line in there as bait... and i'm not biting... so there.

no bait. just a legitimate hatred for the daytime television...and the fact that i have had to watch far too many hours to support friends. it's just not right.

Man. I am sorry you have to sit through all this reality drivel. Though I would rather sit through reality BS than daytime soaps.

I think I'd rather pass a kidney stone than have to watch soap operas.

I am so boycotting GH right now. They have dared to bring Kelly Monaco's Dancing with the Stars fame into a storyline for the next few weeks. UGH! That show is like a trainwreck in slow motion.

It's just a thought, but why don't you try being a mean grump for a few years...maybe then you wouldn't have so many friends in bikinis ....

apparently, being a mean grump for about 12 years IS WHAT got me friends in bikinis. becasue i have been. and i do.

not sure how it worked out that way.

cade i feel snubbed. mathew danger troxel and myself were "almost" on fear factor and we didn't even get an honorable mention... despite having to endure 4 hours with the one eyed 87year old barbie.

only to be rejected cause either
a. the producers were sure that danger and i would sweep the competition and there would be no drama.

This is "the" Danni from Tongie, isn't it?

Cade, I thought you taught her better... *sigh*

I think it's time for you to burn up the phone minutes and BEG every single person you know NOT to consider getting on reality TV (or soaps). I think that's your only hope right now, aside from getting on a show yourself for irony's sake...

like there would be more than one of her from tongie? there's like 8 people in that town.

as for the phone calls. there are maybe only about 3 or 4 people that i know who would still go for one. that should save me some time.
