finished-ish!

these are as close to finished pictures as we are going to get for a while.
the bedroom is only missing the window sill in one window. we have since moved the bed and dresser in and it already looks well lived in.

the bathroom is done (i am currently resting comfortably following the inaugural shower) save some touch up paint. notice the baseboards and their stunning resemblance to the vanity cabinet.

the office is painted. baseboards and trim will wait for now. this picture was taken just after we removed the paper on the floor (it's still pretty dirty) and just before we crammed a 1/3 of our stuff down from the 3rd floor into it.

so, i guess that's it.

thanks for following along.

we're going on vacation.

one last progress report

the next one will be finished pictures.

for the time being, i added a "status counter" on the sidebar. i'll be updating that daily.

basically, the bathroom is stalled at 95% until we get the baseboards in. i think we finally figured out a good stain/color combo for the baseboards that matches the cabinets...so that should be capping off shortly.

the bedroom is scarily close to done, yet still a disaster. it's a weird combination. after some fancy wiring, the ceiling fan is in. we got the trimwork in today and put a coat of primer on them. the walls are painted so we are just a coat or two of trim paint and some touch up wall paint from being done there.

the closet is essentially done. becky painted the ceiling and walls and i got the heating ducts for the office and the 3rd floor put in today. all we need now is some shelving and some sort of rug and we have ourselves a closet.

the office is the ugly step-child of the project. we finally got it mudded and partially sanded. so, we still need to finish sanding and do a second coat of mud. then some more sanding (our new favorite pastime,) some painting and a new ceiling fan in there and we'll call it good. the trim work will wait for now.

lastly, the hallway outside the bathroom has been sitting with a coat of primer on it for a couple of days now. it actually looks pretty good, so we haven't put much thought into it. basically, a coat of paint and some trim for the bathroom door and the seams where the new drywall meets the old plaster and that is done.

so, there you have it. more when we are done, done. (or at least "for now" done.)

here's a couple of pics to ponder for now:
