so you know my dad raises championship cutting horses right? at one time he had the number 1 and number 3 horses in the world.

then this last fall those two and another one broke their legs. it is a genetic thing if you were wondering.

anyway, his number 1 "smokes deuce" had the exaxt same break as that of barboro. but we haven't had to put him down yet. stock horses are a little hardier bread than race horses beleive it or not.

weird huh?

you can see photos of us dressing the bandages on my flickr page.

talk about money spent. multiply the barboro x 3 plus a poor farmers income. yikes.

i guess my biggest problem is the owners. they are all about how much they "loved him" and whatever.

i wish they would just be honest and say that the reason they tried so hard to keep him alive and are so upset about finally putting him down has little to do with how much they "loved" him or how much of a "fighter" he was...and everything thing to do with the millions of dollars in stud fees they have now lost.

call me heartless. i don't know.

you beat me to the punch.

i don't have any hatred for barbaro per se. i just hate overdone sports stories.

at least now we have more time to debate whether or not clemens will play another season.

ugh.

I have mixed feelings about the whole issue. I was there when he won the Kentucky Derby, so I feel a slight connection. But on the other hand, I had my money on Sinister Minister...
