good news, bad news

it is with bittersweet anticipation, that i tell those of you who don't know, that FOX will be airing the final 4 episodes of arrested development this friday in one, 2-hour block.

with this move, the execs at FOX programming have made their final statement:

"we absolutely do not care what happens to this show. nor do we care at all about the voice or opinions of it's loyal fans. we are going to air the shows as we promised, but we will be damned if we give anyone a chance to watch it." *

that's right, they are airing the final episodes of the FOX-era (come on, CW. you know you want to pick it up) of this brilliant and criminally misunderstood show this friday night....opposite the opening ceremonies of the winter olympics! an event watched the world over by hundreds of millions of people. why not just air it opposite the superbowl, or would that have been overkill? at least that would have guaranteed that NO ONE would have watched it. that IS what you want, right? for NO ONE to watch it? you so suck.

*-quote was exagerated...slightly.

As I've stated before, Friday my heart will be with Arrested Development... I shall send it out in style watching faithfully from my living room couch.

while this has nothing to do with arrested development whatsoever, i still have a comment...i was sorely disappointed to have been greeted by a "closed" sign at your store today. i even came bearing gifts!i bought cookies for my students today and had a whole box leftover...they could have been yours.

you seem "mildly irritated" at FOX. could this be true??

aime- i'm not gonna lie, my alarm didn't go off today and i had a ton of errands to run before coming in. vagabond suffered as a result. i missed cookies, that makes me very sad.

beck- as always, your support is appreciated and welcomed. in this, the darkest of television hours.

The opening ceremonies of the games are going to be like every other one, seriously. Just people walking into a stadium, carrying a flag, wearing the colors of their country. You'll do the usual noting of how lame the team/country outfits are, they'll be semi-interesting commentary on who the flagbearers are, and you'll chuckle at the countries that only have two people representing it.

and you'll wonder who is skating/skiing/bobsledding/curling for their dear dead aunt. those human interest stories get me every time.

Okay, you got me. The Opening Ceremony got boring (big surprise) and I drifted to the only other thing I knew was on tonight: Arrested Development.

And yes, I enjoyed it...

first 2 episodes: C
third: B
finale: A-

so ends the story of the bluth family...that is, until the movie comes out.

I absolutely loved that Justine Bateman was the supposed long lost sister. I thought they did quite well considering how much they had to wrap up within the given timeslot. Although the "wrap up" of the overarching plot (the Bluth's in legal trouble) did seem rather ubrupt and somewhat out of character for the show. It was such a simple tie-up...I thought it should have been more complicated than the "CIA East" forgetting to tell "CIA West" or whatever that was. But overall, I'd give them a B+ to A-
