for the first time since january 17, 1994 (an event personally witnessed by at least 3 readers of this blog), the university of kansas men's basketball team lost a game to the wildcats of kansas state. the 31-game domination came to a "thudding" end today as k-state topped the hapless jayhawks 59-55...IN LAWRENCE!
my soul hurts.
my soul hurts.

it is a very, very sad day.
i think it is my fault.
remember when you said i shouldn't talk pre-game trash?
well i met this friend of a friend who is going to K-state and well...
sorry.
i said im sorry (weeps)...
... there is always missouri... (he mumbles, his head in his hands)
We were up by 6 at the half!?
*Sheesh* What the hell happened?
Lawrence was rated 2nd meanest city when it comes to kicking the homeless where it hurts... looks like it's just rotten all around this week, huh?
not only that, but we were up by more than a dozen a couple of times.
cuss word.
you know, as i was telling a certain "olathe-bound" friend of mine earlier tonight...it's not that the loss ended the streak which we all loved so much. it was that we are at the point where we need EVERY win, and to just give away a home game...to k-state, well, that's just inexcusable.
now we HAVE to win the hard games. we're back to square one with the tournament committee and so help me, if this debacle is what keeps us out of the dance...many. many cuss words.
this zaps every ounce of residual joy I carried with me home from Boulder last Wed...I was there that day in '94...never was I more bewildered...
Cade, raise what's left of the flag for me...I'm on my back
Cade,
This loss won't keep them out of the big dance--the one against Mizzou will. (I wish...)
i have found that jack daniels helps.
i am at a loss.
Yeah, and I had to call my Wildcat brother (who majored in horticulture) with a dang concession speech.
Should we start saying, "Just wait 'til football season"? It's looking that way...
that would be disastrous, donald. i can only hope that our football prgram will continue to improve, but history tells me differently.
I'm not going to mention the fact that high school starters are expected to shoot at least 60% from the free throw line, because if I were to mention that, I would start thinking about it and start throwing things. Being that I have a room full of students, that would not go so well, so I'm not going to mention the free throw performance of KU at all. Good thing I'm also not going to talk about turnovers.... did you have any JD left?
