queen latifah WAS nominated in 2002 for her role as "momma" in chicago. she was, however beaten out by her co-star, catherine "i have the shoulders of a man" zeta-jones-douglas.
back to point, the queen can act circles around mar-iin and was, at least, a better choice than this.
on a totally unrelated note, Lee S. from the Lawrence Arts center says hello. I apologize if I mentioned this already. I volunteered a while back and I talked about my husband and how he had a friend who worked at the Lied Center...etc. He hopes you're doing well!
Thought of you last night, cade, while watching the Colbert Report. He felt that Martin Lawrence was snubbed in the Oscar nominations this year, and used a clip from his appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio to make his point. If you didn't see it, I'm sure it'll be up on Mother Load (stupid name) sometime today.

So waiting for that guy to have a drug overdose.
i love that Big Momma's House is listed as one of his acting highlights.
It must be a highlight, since he's got a sequel coming out.
His TV show theme song taught me how to say his name: Moa'en, Moa'en...
wait, queen won an oscar? where the hell have i been?
I feel the same way as I did when I heard that David Spade got a star on the Walk of Fame. Sort of queasy.
JYL - just kick him in the shins and run, he'll just cry anyway...
