i know the feeling. maybe we should all go in on one of those servers together and host our blogs on it.

Ok, maybe I'm opening a can of worms here, but I'm going for it. I too am dissatisfied with my blog and in the past I've heard others grumble about how the blogverse just isn't the same. I think my entries were just as silly last year as they are now but I'm wondering if this collective feeling might be caused by a new fad turning old, that we're too busy to comment regularly, or that maybe it got too big. I don't get that closeness I felt due to these little blogs a year ago. Like here I am in St. Louis and yet a year ago I felt like I was with people on their journeys in Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, etc, etc. I don't get that anymore. People have stopped writing, or maybe like myself because of the bigness of it all, haven't put themselves in a necessarily more vulnerable or comfortable place to freely express themselves. But that could just be my own deal. Then again, who am I kidding, even with a new server or a new template as 'scared ground' to tromp I'm still just going to fill it with whining and pictures of my cat. A friend this month sent me a journal and those entries without a doubt a year ago would have been on my blog - but they aren't. What I'm now trying to figure out is why not and how do I fix that.
Eric, I'm sorry i just hijacked your blog. For you personally, I know you have good ideas in your brain to write, just don't expect them to be readily available every time you sit down to blog. We (or at least I) don't expect perfection. I do however appreciate that you check in with us here as often as you do. I'd rather have that, than a self-imposed exile because you decided to stop writing all together.
