boston's north station, saturday march 25, 2006:
is anyone else out there creeped out by the onslaught of kids wearing shoes with rollers in the heels? kinda like those "skate shoes" from a few years ago, but much more incognito.
they look like robot-children floating over the ground without moving their legs. it's unnatural.

They're called "Wheelies" just so you know. Very popular. But don't worry-soon some watchdog group will come along and say they are dangerous and kids should have to wear 18 pounds of safety gear when using them just because you had one or two kids (who were unnaturally clumsy/stupid to begin with) who took headers down a flight of stairs while wearing them.
they are creepy.
You could always try shoving one if they get in your way. If they are robots, they'll fall on the floor, sparking.
They're actually "Heely's," and I hate them. I told Art that the wedding is off if he ever for a second thought that any future child of ours would own a pair.
Luckily, he feels the same.
I think they're cool. I love seeing a real life surrealistic scene. Come on, life's an adventure, walking's boring.
