i love food

i feel i should write something. if for no other reason than to get the hideousness that is jacko off the top of my blog.

I don't know what to write.

as i've heard mentioned, i guess i should just "write what i know."

okay. i know food. so, here are the top 5 (in no particular order) best foods of all time:

- pizza (preferably cheese in my case, but there are other good variations)

- thanksgiving. turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy. you get the point.

- peanut butter and jelly sandwich

- mac and cheese

- ice cream

as you can see, i don't need no fancy food.

If you get a chance, go try the fried mac and cheese at a TGI Friday's. It's seriously some of the best stuff on earth.

Now I really want some and it's only 9am.

Since you didn't ask...

Pizza (Ray's, Gino's East, Dino's or well, anything really)

Chips and Salsa (from Manny's)(Any Mexican meal is fine if the chips and salsa are good)

Ice Cream

So that I don't have to make a special post on my blog:

Nachos. The way I make 'em: lots o' chips, lots o' cheese, LOTS of salsa.

Chips & Salsa (Carlos O'Kelly's tends to be my favorite) Yes, this is different from nachos.

Pizza. Any, as long as the toppings are good...but Wheat State is the best in town. Any Chicago-style is awesome, as well.

Dirty Rice, or Red Beans & Rice. (Tie)

Meatloaf (our family's recipe) and mashed potatoes with butter and creole seasoning.

Honnorable mention: Polish sausage with mac & cheese. Preferably separate on the plate, but chopped up and mixed together is yummy, too :)

What is a pumpkin log?? I think I need one immediately.

And yes, Cheesecake Factory has fried mac & cheese that is ten billion times better than Friday's.

I think the Cheesecake Factory is overrated. The one at the mall is ALWAYS packed. You basically have to get there right when it opens because otherwise it's a two to three hour wait: that's ten minutes for a pager, most of the rest of the time waiting with the pager, then the last twenty minutes waiting in the line from when your pager beeped, and they are bussing the table, plus another five minutes before your waitress shows up. No thanks, I'll take the ten minute wait at Friday's. I'm hungry now, not two hours from now.

leanne-

i'm afraid the best i can do is offer the timeframe of "shortly after new years."

once my folks get settled into the new house, i will see if mom will knock a few out.

i can probably get you the recipe if you want to be adventurous.

i cannot make them.

they are the the best thing ever.

They are truly wondrous things, pumpkin rolls. Now that you've shown me the picture, I realize how great they are.
