IT"S COLLEGE BASKETBALL SEASON!!
* - i will always refer to the first official day of practice as "midnight madness" despite the fact that some braniac decided that midnight was "too late" and the official start of the season was moved up to and earlier time. lame. the season is SUPPOSED to start at 12:01am tomorrow, allowing the players and fans to enjoy an official scrimmage at midnight. at kansas, we had "late night with roy" until the traitor jumped ship. now, we have "late night in the phog" which is cool except for the fact that it is done by 9:30. as i said. lame.

prepare. it's a long road full of sheer joy and absolute anguish. it's a road that leads to understanding of the human spirit in all it's wonderous and broken pureness. once you're hooked, your life becomes something akin to devastatingly beautiful carnival where you live and die by the actions of a handful of kids. kids that you don't know, but love more than you thought possible. tread lightly, for it is a vicious, glorious bitch of a mistress.
that said, i (and i'm sure the good doctor) would be glad to walk with you along that road if you choose to join us.
and vegas, though historically a "boys" retreat, could very well be a possibility. i'll check with the elders. personally, i would love it.

dones- simply put:
a group of us (and by "group" i mean, dave and our friend chris and i (though james keeps threatening to go.)) have been going to vegas (along with about 8 million others) every year for the first two rounds of the tournament for the past few years.
i encourage anyone to join us. it's a blast. nothing like watching a game along side fans of every team imaginable, rooting for teams no one has heard of simply because you have $10 riding on the outcome....for 12 hours/day...for 4 days.
it's wonderful.
and the more that go, the cheaper it is.
I may actually be moving to Olathe (or somewhere close) around that time of year. But my interest is greatly piqued. Shoot me a phone call or an email when you are getting ready to buy tickets & make reservations.
